Cancer Research

A giant wave of pink all across the stretch of Worthing promenade, no water just women. Women of all shapes , sizes, temperaments, ethnicities. Some running, some walking, some roller skating. Some in athletic neon pink jogging wear, Some in tutus, some in wheelchairs being pushed and cheered on by their fellow women. They all have one thing in common, they are all helping to fight cancer, running all the way up and down the promenade.

Mothers and daughters, sisters, friends, supporting each other and it's brilliant. To see the sheer magnitude of support; people raising the proverbial roof when a young bald girl of 10 crosses the line, It warms your heart! They chant, carry posters and sing the same message: Hey cancer! We're coming to get you!

And you know what, next time I'll join them. These moments when you see people come together to face a common threat. Hundreds, thousands even, doing something selfless, all wearing pink. A great wave crashing down upon the proms, working to a healthier, happier future: These moments fill you up with pride, with hope and with determination. Thank you to all those who took part in this years race for life. We will beat cancer: Together.
